Department of Applied Information Science in Economics  Since January 2018 on the instructions of Professor Beril S.I. the Department provides training for specialists for the PMR in the framework of building digital society and digital economy. The Department masters and implements educational disciplines in the curriculum of the bachelor’s and master’s degrees training programs “Applied Information Science” and “Business Informatics”. Within the disciplines the academic staff master new technologies of digital economy: IoT, BD, CC, Ai, ML, smart city. Two monographs have been published: “Digital Society” and “Digital Economy”. A number of projects have been implemented: GIS of the state of the Internet environment of the area, GIS of inbound and domestic tourism, GIS of unauthorized landfills. A virtual IT park is supported. Since January 1, 2012 it has been providing training for bachelors in training programs 09.03.03 “Applied Information Science” and 38.03.05 “Business Informatics”. The training aids supply of the Department allows to provide specialists with high-quality training. The branches of the Department of Applied Information Science have been opened at the enterprises of the city. Graduates of the department successfully work for the State bodies and municipal administration, for enterprises and firms of various forms of ownership, and some are successful founders of enterprises of the city and the republic. The department staff are highly qualified specialists, among whom there are professors, associate professors, postgraduate students, leading specialists of the city enterprises and institutions, 70% of the department staff being graduates of the branch. The academic staff of the department are constantly increasing their qualification: they study at doctoral and postgraduate courses, they take courses of further qualification in the Republic and abroad. The department staff constantly replenishes the scientific library with articles, monographs and other publications on the international, republican and city levels. The academic teaching staff, together with students, actively carry out research work and take part in scientific and practical conferences and round tables. A student scientific club has been organized in the field of “Modern corporate information systems”, where students acquire practical skills in working with information technologies and discuss the present day economic problems. On the basis of the department a “3D-modeling” club was opened. It aims at formation and development of students’ intellectual and practical competences in the field of three-dimensional models creation. In the framework of the joint project of the Rybnitsa branch of the PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko and municipal educational institution “Children and Youth Creativity Centre” on the basis of the department the creative association “ITshnik” was created and has been operating. The participants of it are students of the 8th -11th forms. The association aims to provide in-depth studying of important elements of Information Science and to develop students’ computer skills. The Department of Applied Information Science has a business information centre where videoconferences and webinars are held, including the ones agreed on with various HEIs in the Russian Federation, meetings with heads of enterprises, entrepreneurs, training courses and workshops in various fields and on enterprise applications, courses of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Pridnestrovie and many other events. The students of the Department of Applied Information Science do academic internship, externship and pre-diploma practice at enterprises and institutions of the city, republic and near abroad. The Department of Applied Information Science was the initiator of the “Alumni Club” creation. It is a public organization which annually holds meetings with graduates of the University, and where the problems of successful interaction of the Department and graduates are discussed. On January 1, 2012 the PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko adopted new third-generation State educational standards, which train specialists according to the degree education system. At the Department of Applied Information Science applicants in 2016 there очнаяwere offered the internal study mode training program “Applied Information Science” and the external study mode training program “Business Informatics”. A bachelor’s degree is awarded upon graduation. Bachelor’s degree graduates have the opportunity to continue their education in the Master’s degree program (2 years). The training program “Applied Information Science” with the specialization in “Applied Information Science in Economy” meets ready market due to the fact that the graduates can apply their knowledge in business information support and in all spheres of economy. Qualified specialists can continue their education in postgraduate programs and receive additional education under the joint educational program of the Bryansk State Technical University and Pridnestrovian State University named after T.G. Shevchenko. Training in the program “Applied Information Science” is carried out on budgetary and contract basis. The standard period of internal study mode participation in the bachelor’s degree program is 4 years. The qualification is a computer economist. A computer economist is a specialist who: develops, implements and supports vocational information systems in economy, is a professional in the sphere of information systems implementation and performs functional tasks, manages informational, material and cash flows. Professional duties of a computer economist are aimed at ensuring the functioning of economic, administrative units of institutions equipped according to the standards of electronic office. A specialist is able to perform all design work on the development of economic information systems at all stages of their operation. Possible professional activities are organizational management, marketing, project technology, operational, analytical and entrepreneurial activities. This training program actually includes two specialties, which gives freedom of choice and a greater chance of finding a job. Information systems professionals in the economy are in steady demand in the labour market, both at home and abroad. The training program “Business Informatics” with the specialization in “Enterprise Architecture” provides professional training of competent specialists at the intersection of two fields, namely business and information science. “Business Informatics” provides fundamental knowledge in the field of economics and professional skills in development, analysis and use of modern information technologies for business-processes support. Training in the program “Business Informatics” is carried out on a contractual basis. The standard period of external study mode Bachelor’s degree program is five years. The Bachelor of Business Informatics is a specialist in Economics, Management, Law and Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), who engages in design, implementation, analysis and maintenance of corporate information systems. The field of activity of this training program graduates is the integrated presentation of strategies and goals, business processes and IT infrastructure of enterprises of different industries and forms of ownership, as well as public and municipal administration institutions; strategic planning for IS and ICT enterprise management development; organization of IS and ICT operational processes of business management; analytical support of decision-making processes for enterprise management. The subjects of the professional activity are the following: • e-business creation and development methods and tools and their components; • enterprise architecture; • IS and ICT in business management; • IS and ICT operation management methods and tools; • ICT innovation and innovative processes. The types of professional activity for which graduates of bachelor’s training programs with the specialization in “Enterprise Architecture” are prepared for are the following: • analytical; • organizational and managerial; • project; • study and research; • consulting; • innovative and entrepreneurial. |
