Pre-Academic Programs The basis of the state standards of higher education of the PMR (including at the PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko) is the state standards of higher education of the Russian Federation, therefore, graduates of our university receive diplomas officially recognized as equivalent to diplomas of specialists with higher education issued by accredited state universities of the Russian Federation. In this regard, since 1999 the PSU began to conduct entrance examinations with the requirements as close as possible to the requirements of most Russian universities. Testing became the main form of entrance examinations. Due to the testing, it became possible to identify gaps in the preparation of applicants, and this determined the creation of the departments for pre-academic programs to prepare young people for studying at a university since January 2001 at the PSU. The main objective of the PSU Pre-Academic Programs is to help future applicants to choose correct profession and prepare them for mastering the programs of higher education. When entering the PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko, participants of the pre-academic programs enjoy the benefit. Educational services provided within pre-academic programs are paid.
