STUDENT’S SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES CHAIR

On April 18 Foreign Languages Chair held the student's scientific conference. 30 people took part in work of the conference, 7 reports were heard. The students presented their researches in the field of linguistics and language training method. So Irina Mogilyuk, the student of Course IV, under the guidance of Senior Lecturer E. Solovyanova was engaged in studying of stylistic convergence in stories by J. London. The student clued the concept of this phenomenon, approaches to stylistic convergence classifications, this phenomenon functions in Jack London’s stories were considered.
 


Anastasia Palamarchuk, the student of Course III, in cooperation with Senior Lecturer G. Vychuzhina carried out the comparative analysis of sensual and emotional condition descriptions of characters of a short story in Russian and German texts in their report “Emotional and sensual spheres of fictitious characters of S. Zweig” (according to “Amok”, a short story).

Tatyana Fornya, the student of Course III, under the guidance of Senior Lecturer P. Gilevich presented the conceptual issues of activization process of cognitive activity at a lesson. As a result of the conducted research possibilities of pupils’ cognitive activity increase were defined. In the report of Marina Balan, the student of Course III, under the guidance of Graduate Associate O. Zadobrivscaia, the main aspects of communicativeness as a pledge of effective communication were opened. The objective of this research was studying of communicative skills at students of the language specialty, and the introduction process of communication styles into educational process. The goal was successfully reached in the course of the research.

Features of sociolinguistic and sociocultural competences as the main components of communicative competence were covered by Anna Burdiyan, the student of Course III, under the guidance of Senior Lecturer J. Volkova. The student confirmed the fact that success of cross-cultural communication to a large extent depends on the level of communication proficiency of participants’ sociolinguistic and sociocultural competences.

The research of Maria Monyatovskaya and Tatyana Shkut is devoted to practical application of distance learning technologies. Together with the academic advisor, Senior Lecturer V. Argunova, they conducted the research which allowed to reveal effective methods and techniques of improving motivation of distance training.

On the conference results the researches of T. Shkut and M. Monyatovsky “Distance learning on the basis of computer telecommunications”, A. Palamarchuk “Emotional and sensual spheres of fictitious characters of S. Zweig” (according to “Amok”, a short story), A. Burdiyan “Development of sociolinguistic and sociocultural competences of students in English teaching” were acknowledged as the best ones. The positions were given respectively.
