THE BOOK PRESENTATION BY A. POKUSINSKY AND L. POKUSINSKAYA
On April 18 in Borschev, the Ternopil Region, Ukraine, the book presentation by Alexei Pokusinsky and Lyudmila Pokusinsky, teachers of DAA Chair of PSU named after T. Shevchenko, Rybnitsa branch, took place. The name of the book is “THE BORSHCHEV NATIONAL SHIRT: materials, cut, embroidery techniques. The Collection of the Borschev Museum of Regional Studies”.
This edition is printed from a dummy on the Kiev printing house “New Print” at the end of 2012.
The book is a popular science edition which consists of two chapters. All technological characteristics of the Borschev national shirt fabrication, that is, materials, cut, embroidery techniques, are collected and structured in the first chapter. The second one presents the Collection of the Borschev Museum of Regional Studies and consists of more than 70 masculine and female shirts which are performed in the form of thoroughly categorized museum specimen.
The certification includes the sewing-pattern executed in scale with defined embroidered zones and each embroidered motive on a shirt in the form of a photo and scheme. Materials and embroidery techniques of this pattern are specified in signatures of illustration schemes.
A lot of the Borschev shirt admirers, citizens and city visitors gathered at the presentation which took place in the Borschev Museum of Regional Studies. Among the guests there were representatives of the local, regional and district government, teachers of the Kamenets-Podolsky and Kosiv higher education institutions.
The authors gave Borschev city libraries and regional rural libraries 60 books intended for folk art preservation and renaissance, particularly the Borschev national shirt.
The city and region power expressed gratitude to the authors of the book, A. Pokusinsky and L. Pokusinskaya for the contribution into the Ukraine folk art development.
