USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES IN SCIENCE, EDUCATION AND INDUSTRY

On April 22 Physics, Mathematics and Information Science Chair held the student's scientific and practical conference on the subject “Use of Information Technologies in Science, Education and  Industry”.
 



The work of the conference began with a welcome speech of Physics, Mathematics and Information Science Chair Head A. Glazov who noted the practical importance of student’s research work. 9 students made reports, they touched upon various spheres of information technologies application.

V. Slobodyanyuk (Course V, “Informatics with the additional speciality “English Language”, the academic advisor is Senior Lecturer A. Glazov) made the report on the subject “Distance Linguistic School”. Victoria showed a site of Distance Linguistic School of PSU named after T. Shevchenko, Rybnitsa branch. Questions on site administering, schoolchildren testing were considered, a possibility of video lecture viewing, which allows schoolchildren to listen to information in a foreign language, is shown.

M. Kushnir (Course IV, CF and AS; the academic advisor is Senior Lecturer A. Glazov) made the report on the subject “AutoIt and Its Application”. Marina showed examples of tasks performance at the level of an operating system, the work with csv-files. The speaker noted that AutoIt allows to enter data even if there is no access to them.

D. Patlaty (Course 4, CF and AS; the academic advisors are Senior Lecturer A. Glazov, Associate Professor L. Tyagulskaya) made the report on the subject “Current Progress Display on a Branch Site”. Dmitry showed the created plug-in implementing a possibility of data loading regarding the results of evaluation and session on the server, their display on a branch site.

A. Lazar (Course IV, “Informatics with the additional speciality “English Language”; the academic advisor is Lecturer N. Glazova) made the report on the subject “Visualizers Application in Educational Process”. Anna accentuated ways of visualizers use when studying disciplines, listed tasks solved by a visualizer, showed visualizers examples.

O. Gorelova (Course IV, “Informatics with the additional speciality “English Language”; the academic advisor is Lecturer L. Balan) made the report on the subject “Programmers Being in Demand in the Development Sphere of Distance Learning Systems”. Olga noted the main components and resources of distance learning systems, requirements to the staff, and she also considered the software of distance learning platform, having specified advantages and disadvantages of the ways of such platforms creation.

I. Burdeynaya (Course 5, “Informatics with the additional speciality “English Language”; the academic advisor is Lecturer L. Balan) made the report on the subject “On the Distance Skill Upgrading of Programmers”. Irina displayed the results of the conducted analysis of distribution and distance courses cost in the direction “Programming” with the help of charts, and also noted that work on students involvement to the sphere of distance learning is being conducted in Rybnitsa branch.

V. Lyutov (Course III, CF and AS; the academic advisor is Lecturer A. Mulyar) made the report on the subject “Information Transfer between Two Computers by Means of the Laser on the Basis of RS-232 Connection”. Vladimir demonstrated devices operation which consist of receivers and laser transmitters, and also noted advantages and disadvantages of optical communication on RS-232 connection. The report invited an animated discussion.

T. Lyutenko (Course V, “Informatics with the additional speciality “English Language”; the academic advisor is Lecturer L. Balan) made the report on the subject “On the Self-assessment Ability Formation of Pupils of Comprehensive School”. Tatyana defined the factors influencing a self-assessment and forming pupils’ self-assessment ability. The speaker noted results of technology introduction “Pupil’s Portfolio” in the course of Informatics lessons in the 8th grade, showed the results of self-assessment analysis before and after the experiment with the help of charts.

A. Savko (Course IV, “Informatics with the additional speciality “English Language”; the academic advisor is Associate Professor L. Tyagulskaya) made the report on the subject “Organizational and Technical Approach to Timetable Scheduling in Rybnitsa Branch”. Anastasia noted that schedule automatization in the branch is an important task. The speaker enumerated existing programs solving this problem, showed operation of one of such programs, having made previously changes for the higher education institution.

Based on the results of the conference the reports of the following students were acknowledged as the best ones:

Patlaty Dmitry – Place III.
