STEPS OF PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
On October 15 the competition “Steps of Professional Skills” took place in the Foreign Languages Chair. This event was held for the first time, but we are deeply convinced and hope, that it will become a good tradition in Rybnitsa branch.
First, there is some information on the competition. It passes in two stages: I – Elimination Round (September-October) and Final Round (December). The elimination round is held at the level of chairs, and final – at the level of the branch.
This competition is planned to be organized among all the faculties of the university and pursues the following aims:
- identification of the reached degree of professional competence, development of potential organizational, research kinds of activity of future specialists;
- increase of the profession prestige and university image.
The following students took part in the competition: Tatyana Fornya and Anastasia Palamarchuk (Course V), Ivan Palii and Anastasia Kolesnikova (Course V), Anna Burdiyan (Course V) and Alyona Karpova (Course IV).
In the first nomination the contestants presented their slide presentations “A self-portrait of a competition participant” in which they told about themselves, their achievements and hobbies. The following nomination was the creative project “My Professional Philosophy”, where participants showed their vision of the teaching profession essence, shared the opinion on what a real teacher, the true master of his craft, is. As for “Professional impromptu”, it should be noted that the participants took the offered tasks seriously. The contestants were offered to watch a video of a dramatized foreign language lesson, and the task was to determine what actions of the teacher were incorrect from the methodical point of view.
In general, the participants coped with aims and tasks of the competition very well. The jury members expressed their gratitude to the contestants, wished them success and fulfillment of ideas.
According to the results of the competition the prize-winning places were distributed as follows: the Ist place – Tatyana Fornya and Anastasia Palamarchuk, the IInd place – Anna Burdiyan, the IIIrd place – Alyona Karpova.
In the final round which will take place in December, 2014, the Foreign Languages Chair will be presented by the winners of the elimination round, the students of the 5th course, Tatyana Fornya and Anastasia Palamarchuk. We wish them to act with dignity, success and of course, to win!
