NEW PEDAGOGICAL TECHNOLOGIES UPON STUDYING INFORMATION SCIENCE
On 27 March within the context of Welcome Day there was a seminar on the theme “New Pedagogical Technologies upon Studying Information Science” at the Physics, Mathematics and Information Science Chair.
Teachers of MEE “RRSS No. 6 with lyceum classes”, MEE “RRSS No. 9”, lecturers, students and graduates of the Physics, Mathematics and Information Science Chair took part in this seminar.
Participants’ reports covered modern pedagogical approaches of using different training means and methods in Information Science and related disciplines.
The report by A. Annenkov, a lecturer of the Physics, Mathematics and Information Science Chair, on the theme “Using Electronic Stands upon Studying Computer Logical Elements” invited an animated discussion on the usage and implementation of new teaching means into the educational process. Teachers of MEE “RRSS No. 6 with lyceum classes” confirmed the practical significance of stands, noting students’ increased interest to study new material with using these means and they confirmed their wish of getting them for giving Information Science classes.
Useful and updated information on modern approaches of training pupils for academic competitions in Information Science was presented in the report by O. Keeper, the 5th year student of Specialty “Information Science” with an additional specialty “English Language”.
However, methods of giving Information Science classes, teacher’s skills, his ability and wish to use either traditional or modern pedagogical approaches in class are important in Information Science classes. Theoretical aspects of these issues and their practice implementation were presented in the reports by O. Balakan and N. Ilieva. The experience of giving experimental Information Science classes allowed N. Ilieva to animate her report with real examples from her own experience indicating the achieved results.
Not only the lecturers, but also the students took active part in discussing reports, they shared their impressions of methods of giving classes, expressed their opinions about the most preferred methods of organizing lectures and practical training.
According to the seminar results the importance of this event for school teachers was noted, because it’s another opportunity to share experience and learn new information for themselves from their colleagues. The common wish of the seminar participants was, if possible, the annual holding of similar seminars with involvement of a larger number of not only city but district Information Science teachers
