REPUBLICAN SCIENTIFIC-PRACTICAL WORKSHOP
On April 20, 2021 the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts, the Rybnitsa branch of the PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko, held a republican workshop on “Synthesis of scientific and practical work of the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts in the regional development”. The workshop started at 13:00 and was held online.
The following people participated in the workshop: the public organization Chairman of the PMR Union of Designers Galanin Anatoliy B., the Chairman of the PMR Union of Artists, Lecturer Gorbachenko Olga Y., the Honored Artist of the PMR, the Council member of the Union of Designers, Lecturer of the Bendery Higher College of Arts Panov Sergey G., the teaching staff of the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts, the Rybnitsa branch, and the teachers from the Bendery Higher College of Arts.
The head of the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts, Professor Mosiychuk Igor P., delivered the inaugural address and suggested discussing the following problems in the framework of the workshop:
1. The scientific research application by the students’ of the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts upon forming convenient urban environment.
2. Project and creative work of the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts upon realizing the basic vocational training programme.
Having analyzed the students’ scientific research application, the Senior Lecturer of the department, Pokusinskaya Lyudmila V. mentioned in her speech that the young are enthusiastic about creating comfortable urban life, but on their way to the employer after leaving the university they tend to lose the enthusiasm for they do not feel in-demand nor they are supported by the state.
Galanin Anatoliy B. in his report addressed the following pressing issues: “… does the republic need design? Where is creativity?” He also stated, that “ … if we start creating a verbal image, changes will not take place! We need a state employer, otherwise everything will be amateur performance!”
Pokusinskiy Alexey M. pronounced an important problem of historical values being destroyed and of designers and artists existing in urban planning councils just “for the sake of appearance”. They are not taken into consideration when solving global problems of heritage preservation and the development of modern artistic and architectural environment of the republic. To this should be paid a specific attention as it is necessary to renew and not rebuild. Moreover, some historical sites should be removed from operation. The government must understand what is historically important for culture and history preservation. The problems are conceptual in the artistic environment development. It is important to strive to solve global problems with tactical moves.
When drawing the conclusion, the participants of the republican workshop stated that it is necessary for the creative unions and government agencies to work together in order to create a unifying concept of the urban environment.
