IT DICTATION
The All-Russia Information Technology dictation “IT-Dictatant” took place in all regions of Russia in 2021! The students and lecturers of the Department of Information Technologies and Software Engineering of the Rybnitsa Branch of PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko took part in it as well.
The event was timed to coincide with the Programmer’s Day: the holiday is celebrated annually on the 256th day of the year which symbolizes the variety of meanings that can be expressed using an eight-bit byte. In 2021 the IT Dictation took place on September 13.
The IT Dictation is a test comprising a number of tasks with different difficulty level, ranging from the basics of work with computers and Internet resources use skills to knowledge of such aspects as block chain and Internet of everything. The test aim was to assess participants’ competence, their basic and advanced digital skills.
IT Dictation is an All-Russia education promotion which aims to determine and improve the level of people’s digital literacy. It is important because digital technologies have become an integral part of everybody’s life. Today digital literacy is as important as knowledge of punctuation and spelling rules.
