COMPUTER GAME DEVELOPMENT FOR PUPILS IN GRADES 8-11

On November 9, within the framework of the International Week of Science and Peace in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic the Department of Information Science and Software Engineering lecturers Shestopal O.V. and Stashkova O.V.  held the Workshop “Computer Games Development” on Zoom platform for the pupils in grades 8-11. 
 


The total number of participants was 21. Among them were the representatives of Municipal Educational Institutions “Rybnitsa Secondary General Education School No.8”, “Rybnica Secondary General Education School No.11”, “Rybnitsa Ukrainian Secondary General Education School No.1 with gymnasium classes named after Lesya Ukrainka”, “Rybnitsa Russian-Moldavian Secondary General Education School No.9”. During the presentation, pupils learned about the history of game development, about how games are used today, what game platforms and what stages of game development exist there.

Also, pupils got acquainted with the demanded game professions, noted the most liked ones. The pupils were encouraged to participate in the Olympics, which also aimed at developing game application programming skills.

At the end of the event, pupils were suggested to program the popular Minecraft game in Scratch independently.

At the end of the game, each participant received a certificate.
