SCIENCE AND PRACTICE CONFERENCE

On November 18, 2021, the Department of the Germanic Languages and Their Teaching Methods held a faculty science and practice conference on the topic “Application of Students’ Communication and Speech Development Technology by Means of Foreign Language”. 
 


In modern schools, the strategy of education is being changed, new educational standards are being created, and new programs are being developed. The latter ones require the creation of new methods of teaching foreign languages that are oriented towards the development of communication and speech activity and pupils’ personality. At the conference, students shared their practical insights as well as the results of the research work they had carried out during their pedagogical internship in Rybnitsa and the Rybnitsa district schools.

The lecturers of the Department of the Germanic Languages and Their Teaching Methods, as well as the bachelor degree students in the training program “Pedagogical education” specializing in “Foreign language” with additional specialization in “Foreign language” took part in the conference.

Associate Professor Egorova V.G. and Senior Lecturers of the Department of the Germanic Languages and Their Teaching Methods Argunova V.G., Solovyanova E.V. and Novitskaya N.P. were responsible for the section.

The science and practice conference heard 7 reports on the following topics, that are relevant nowadays:
1. “Corpus as a supporting tool for teaching vocabulary at the English language lesson” (Melnichenko Ekaterina V. with Associate Professor Zadobrivscaia O.F. as the scientific advisor).
2. “Features of the work with a text at the high school stage of education (based on the example of English-language newspaper articles)” (Galyas Lyudmila R. with Associate Professor Egorova V.G. as the scientific advisor).
3. “Word formation in primary school at the German language lessons” (Kostyuk Ekaterina R. with Associate Professor Egorova V.G. as the scientific advisor).
4. “High school students’ stylistic skills development in the process of writing essays at the English language lessons” (Kucherenko Violeta Y. with Senior Lecturer Chehovskaya O.L. as the scientific advisor).
5. “English-language reading skills development of middle-school students on the basis of Internet publications” (Zyatkovskaya Viktoria Y., with Senior Lecturer Chehovskaya O.L. as the scientific advisor).
6. “The use of audio-phonograms for teaching auditory skills at foreign language lessons” (Melnik Denis I. with Senior Lecturer Argunova V.G. as the scientific advisor).
7. “Metadisciplinary skills development at foreign language lessons” (Fuchedji Jana V. with Senior Lecturer Argunova V.G. as the scientific advisor).

The conference participants showed great interest in the topics under discussion and acknowledged the relevance of studying the methodological problems raised.
