FORMULA FOR INVENTIVE SUCCESS

On February 4 the Department of Automation of Technical Processes and Production held a Faculty round table on the theme “Formula for Inventive Success”.

During the work of the Faculty round table on the theme “Formula for Inventive Success” it was planned to discuss the following topics:
1.    “Inventor’s path” was introduced by the head of the departmentб Associate Professor Fyodorov V.E.
2.    “Inventions and patents of the Rybnitsa Branch of the PSU” were presented by Senior Lecturer of the Department of Information Science and Software Engineering Glazov A.B.
3.    “Patents and copyright” were described by Lutsenko I.V.
4.    “Organization of practice-oriented educational process as the basis for innovative thinking development” was explained by Kishmereshkin I.A.
5.    “Inventors and innovators of the Rybnitsa MSW” were described by Paustovsky D.Y.

Presentations were given in the following scientific areas:
Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the department Fyodorov Vladimir E. covered the topic “Inventor’s path”. Inventions are an important innovation element of the economy. Inventions and Research, Development and Engineering projects created by talented developers are the innovative basis for the development of modern economy and technical progress. Half of success in invention is clear formulation of the goal that the inventor is trying to achieve, because very often existing systems contain traditional restrictions that can be rejected without prejudice to the work. On the other hand, it often happens that the initial restrictions hinder inventor’s thinking process, especially if these restrictions are imposed by someone we can call the “customer". The improvement of national economy efficiency, both in general and in individual branches of economy, is unimaginable without widespread introduction of the latest advances in science and technology. One way to do this is to create, analyze, distribute and diffuse scientific and technological innovations. The overall effect of innovation, which is based on scientific discovery or invention, depends largely on the breadth of its distribution and on the extent to which the innovation covers various sectors of the national economy.

The level and pace of scientific-technological progress are determined not only by inventions, but also by the development and creation of highly efficient models of new equipment and products, as well as the speed and volume of their implementation into the economy, the pace and scope of expansion. These are the transformative ones that update the entire social and economic system.

Anatoly B. Glazov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Information Science and Software Engineering, offered to discuss the topic “Inventions and patents of the Rybnitsa branch of the PSU”. The concept of “innovative work” means such a solution to technical problems that is new and useful for a given enterprise, organization or institution. This solution should consist in changing the products design, the production technology or the technique used, or changing the composition of the material used in the manufacture of these products. One of the latest inventions of the Rybnitsa branch of the PSU is a laboratory stand for studying the Atmega 8 microcontroller. The microcontroller is quite simple (not expensive), but on its basis it is possible to build a variety of devices up to the construction of a smart home. The university implemented a deeper approach to the scheme development that greatly expanded the capabilities of the laboratory stand operation even when using a PC.

The teacher of Rybnitsa secondary school №11, Trunko Sergey I., presented his experience working with pupils in the “Robotics” classes. The development of rationalization thought of pupils of Secondary School №11 is of applied nature. Rational proposals and inventions from the automatic garbage bin opening to the automatic bell ringing system in the school were presented. The bell ringing system have been improved, taking into account the peculiarities of the schedule of Secondary School №11 (not only various melodies, signals, sirens, but also voice messages are presented). During the pandemic the pupils provided the school with inexpensive automatic antiseptic dispensers and electronic thermometers. They are especially proud of the automated battery charger based on laser ironing technology with the possibility of battery desulfation.
This work became the winner at the Techno-Intelligence PMR competition. The pupils received a certificate for patenting, and the organizers of the competition bought this invention.
The report of Igor A. Kishmereshkin, a specialist of the Department of Automation of Technical Processes and Production, on the topic “Organization of practice-oriented educational process as the basis for innovative thinking development” highlighted the main directions of the organization of scientific and innovative work at the university, the work of scientific circles, design bureaus, research laboratories. The main tasks of them are: formation of students’ interest in scientific creativity, teaching methods and methods of independent solution of scientific and technical problems and skills of working in research teams; popularization of scientific knowledge and many others.

Summing up the results of the round table, the participants noted that the topic is relevant, interesting and gives opportunities to constantly improve the process of training engineering students, as well as contributes to the development of cooperation between educational organizations and industrial enterprises. The main forms of inventive and innovative work are: performing research tasks during the internship period; developing scientific research, reports and abstracts on topical issues of science and speaking with them at scientific conferences; participating in inventive and innovative work, participating in competitions for the best scientific works and exhibitions based on the results of innovative activities.
