STUDENT’S SCIENTIFIC CIRCLE MEETING
On October 24, at the Department of General Scientific Disciplines, a regular meeting of the student’s scientific circle “Features of the Cultural Identity of the Region” was held on the Skype platform. The topic of the meeting was “PMR − history and modernity (for the 32nd anniversary of the Formation of the PMR)”.
During the discussion, issues related to the reasons for the formation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the process of its formation were considered. The main emphasis was placed on the issue of repelling the military aggression of the Republic of Moldova against the PMR in 1992.
In their reports, students considered the process of creating people’s militia on the example of Rybnitsa and the Rybnitsky district, which this year turned 30 years old. The people of Pridnestrovie experienced difficult days and events that influenced its fate and divided the history into two parts “before” and “after” the" war. The March 1992 is considered a dramatic time for the republic, since it was then that the fate of its statehood was decided.
Students noted that at the time of the outbreak of war in 1992, the armed forces did not exist in Pridnestrovie. The Republican Guard was created and the formation of law enforcement agencies was just beginning. People, civilians who never held weapons in their hands, stood up to defend the Motherland. The patriots of the country created peopleэs militia, considering it their duty to protect their homeland, their family from nationalism, injustice and violence. The undeclared war was horror for civilians. On March 17, 1992, President of the PMR I.N. Smirnov signed a document on the introduction of the “Provisional Regulation on the People’s Militia”. It indicated the widespread formation of people’s militia on the territory of the PMR to protect sovereignty.
At the end of the meeting, it was concluded that the people of Pridnestrovie will always remember the feat of the defenders, who despite the mortal danger brought peace for Pridnestrovie. The names of the defenders of Pridnestrovie will forever remain in the hearts of the Pridnestrovian people.
