NAME OF VICTORY
On September 11, a biographical collection “Name of Victory” was presented in Rybnitsa. The book contains materials about the life and combat path of the distinguished participants of the Great Patriotic War, whose fate is associated with Pridnestrovie.
This is the first edition containing detailed information about the heroes of the Soviet Union and the holders of the Order of Glory of all three degrees who were born in Pridnestrovie or lived here after the war.
The collection was prepared by employees of the Presidential Administration. They processed a huge array of disparate information, worked with museums, archival documents, checked and clarified controversial biographical data.
The collection contains 404 biographies. They are based on the memoirs of the war veterans themselves, data from museum funds and materials of archival documents published on the Memory of the People website. The publication is designed for a wide range of readers and is an indispensable guide to the history of the Great Patriotic War.
“Name of Victory” is a book about people without whom Victory would be impossible. It contains unique photographs, information from award sheets and memoirs. Each biography is the hero’s battle path, the story of a man from a generation of winners, a story about a simple guy who, in moments of danger, is capable of feat for the life of his friends, relatives and loved ones.
