220 YEARS STARTING WITH THE BIRTH OF FIODOR I. TYUTCHEV
On December 5, 2023, within the framework of the Russian World Office in Rybnitsa there was held a discussion with students of the Rybnitsa branch. It was dedicated to the 220th anniversary of Fyodor I. Tyutchev’s birth, a Russian poet-thinker, translator, publicist, diplomat and official.
Students learned that Tyutchev was born in the Oryol province, Bryansk district, Ovstug estate, which belonged to his old noble family. It was here in the family Ovstug that Tyutchev created many poems, which he devoted to the beauty of his native expanses. After graduating from the university in 1822, Fedor Tyutchev was assigned to the Russian diplomatic mission in Munich, and then more than 20 years of his life passed in Western European countries. But even there, in a foreign land, Tyutchev retained his love for his parent’s house, for Moscow, for Russia.
At the end of the discussion, the students gladly listened to Fyodor Tyutchev’s favorite poems.
