Research Areas of the Chair Researches in such fields as Pedagogy, Foreign Languages Training Technique and Linguistics are conducted at the Foreign Languages Chair. The main areas are: The development of a technique for distance language courses for pupils: • The technique for the formation of pupils’ spelling and punctuation competence during the course of the Russian language • Written foreign language training • Integration of a regional component in the training process of the German language The communicative competence formation in the process of foreign languages training: • The competency building approach as an opportunity to improve the educational quality • The social competence role in the process of foreign languages training • The use of visual aids as communicative motivation upon training foreign languages • Communicative and situational training of the German language as the second foreign language taking into account a sociocultural component • The professionally orientated English language training of students from non-language specialties • A videofilm as a means for the esthetic competence formation Actual problems of modern linguistics: • The variability as features of the language system • The role of English phrasal verbs in arranging a mental field • Features of a modern German parable by an example of G. Hesse’s works. The scientific research of the chair is connected with the realization of scientific and methodical work directed to support and development of the educational process. Results of the scientific research are methodology instructions and recommendations, learning and teaching manuals, articles in magazines and other products. The staff annually takes part in work of international and intramural conferences. So, in 2011 the chair teachers took part in 4 scientific and practical conferences of various levels. On the basis of conferences and research work 19 reports, articles and theses were published. |
