About the Branch
  By a resolution of the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldovian Republic, dated June 18, 1993, the engineering and pedagogical faculty of the PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko was opened in Rybnitsa. On June 6, 1997, by Order of the Rector, the Engineering and Pedagogical Faculty changed the name into the Rybnisa Branch of the PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko. The opening of a stable higher education institution allowed to keep in the city a significant part of the advanced, talented youth. The Rybnica Branch of the PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko is considered by right to be the leading scientific and educational centre in the northern regions of Pridnestrovie for the training of engineers, teaching staff and economics personnel. For more than 20 years the branch has been working to increase the scientific potential of the region and to train highly qualified specialists. Today, the Rybnitsa Branch of the PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko is a modern, dynamically developing institution that trains Specialists, Bachelors, Masters and postgraduate students in accordance with the Russian educational standards for higher education at seven departments: - Applied Information Science in Economics; - Automation of Technical Processes and Production; - Decorative and Applied Arts; - Management; - Information Technologies and Software Engineering; - the Germanic Languages and Their Teaching Methods; - General Science Disciplines. The branch is the source of human resources of urban and republican organizations and institutions. The branch graduates are integrated into the structures of the economy and educational organizations, which plays an important role in forming the intellectual core of numerous enterprises. The Rybnitsa Branch of the PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko is an active participant in the urban economy, a platform for the international cooperation development within the city space, as well as an intellectual base of innovative projects. It creates scientific potential of the city, defines it as an educational and cultural center. The facilities include four educational buildings, catering facilities, an infirmary, a sports and health complex, a scientific library, educational laboratories, multimedia centres, appropriate to the modern educational technologies and requirements for both theoretical and practical classes with students. The classrooms allow for the lectures and examinations to be held, as well as for graduation theses and course papers to be defended. At the departments Curriculum Offices function there. The branch carries out educational, research and sociocultural activities, works with human resources, has independent financing and creates modern training aids supply. The branch operates systems for pre-university training, additional and postgraduate education. A great deal of work is being done to improve the teaching and methodological activities of the teaching staff and to find new forms and methods of teaching and educational work with students.
