STUDENTS’ SELF-GOVERNMENT– THE LEADER OF THE XXI-ST CENTURY
On the 22nd of November on the basis of the branch of PSU of T.G. Shevchenko an annual town round table concerning the problems of students’ youth ‘’Students’ self-government – the leader of the XXI-st century ‘’ took place. The subject of discussion was ‘’The organization of charitable activity in the students’ environment’’.

The representatives of the state administration of our town, clergy, representatives of administration of the branch, deputy administrators who collaborate with the youth of PPE, SPE and HPE of the town, activists of students’ self-government and administration assisted in the work of a round table.
During the work of a round table students’ activists of Rybnitskyi branch of PSU of Т.G. Shevchenko and SEG «Rybnitskyi polytechnic technical school» shared their experience of the development of charitable activity in their educational establishments.
The deputy director on educational work of the branch of PSU of T.G. Shevchenko in Rybnitsa, associate professor Tyagulskaya L.A. addressed to the audience with words of welcome. She noticed that charitable activity and volunteering at the branch of the university develop on students’ initiative. ‘’Students’ self-government is not only the solution of specific targets but also a good school which helps to foster independence and responsibility, valuable administrative and organizational experience. The experience gained while working with students shows that opinions of youth have considerably changed lately. The modern young people know that they have the right of choice and to impose something on them is impossible now’’.
O.V. Morarenko – the chief specialist on the youth policy of the state administration of Rybnitskyi district and the town of Rybnitsa and the priest of Rybnitskyi Mihailo- Arhangel cathedral Sergey Vilkov were present at the discussion. They asked the gathered to pay attention to the actions and activities having charitable character fulfilling under the aegis of Orthodox church and the local state administration. Irina Rokozitsa, the chairman of students’ trade-union committee of the branch told about the importance of charitable activities in our real life, charitable program ‘’Do good’’ and other activities which are carried out within its framework. To confirm the words she showed a video film about students’ participation in charitable activities. The special place in a video film was given to the New Year's morning performance which is annually held by students’ activists in children’s home in Popenky village. It was underlined that all means necessary for a trip to the orphanage and children’s presents were collected voluntary and whole-heartedly by the students of Rybnitskyi branch of PSU. Lydia Timoshina, the chairman of a revision committee of trade-union told about voluntary services as an essential element of a modern youth policy in the sphere of youth charitable activity. Sergey Sedletsky and Victor Negrivoda reported about a practice of carrying out charitable actions in SEE ’’Rybnitskyi polytechnic technical school’’. They underlined that students of technical school together with students of RB of PSU participate in actions of collecting means for the benefit of those who need them. They started the discussion of the issue concerning the informing of the population of the town and the whole republic about passing and future actions related to charitable activity, their idea was supported by Melnik Elena, the student of the fifth course, who suggested creating a web site with the purpose of informing the population.
Ekaterina Danilushkina, the student of the fourth course, and Elena Shestopal, the student of the second course, shared their experience of collecting funds in their academic groups. Tatyana Burdejnaya, the former chairman of students’ trade-union committee, the student of the fifth course mentioned that ‘’Charity is purely individual matter for each of us, but it is necessary to remind a person about his possibility to sacrifice to a near one, as the latter will be grateful to you for it’’. The participants of a round table came to the conclusion that it is necessary not only to speak and inform on charitable actions, but also to participate in them actively, on the basis of the mentioned reports, debates and discussions the following decisions were made:
- to continue the practice of close interaction and active cooperation with self-government institutions PPE, SPE, HPE and TYRA in the town Rybnitsa and Rybnitskyi district;
- to create coordinating council on development of youth voluntary movements in Rybnitskyi district and the town of Rybnitsa on the basis of TYRA;
- it is necessary to organize an information support of charities in mass-media with a view of formation a positive public opinion concerning charity and voluntary services in the youth environment.
