On the 22nd of March the competition “Miss Branch 2013” took place in MI “Rybnitsa YouthCentre”. All the students of PSU, Rybnitsa branch, wait for this competition and love it.
The hall could hardly take in guests, spectators and fans. Six girls fought for the right to put on a crown of the winner. 4 quite complex tasks were given to the participants. Firstly, they had to tell about themselves in an image of the heroine of a fairy-tale. Secondly, they had to organize the fairy tale performance, where the heroine of a fairy-tale came from. Thirdly, they had to present their talents to spectators and the jury. The last stage of the competition was the defile where all the girls appeared in delightful evening dresses in front of the audience. In each programme number it was necessary for the girls not only to present themselves in a beautiful way, but also to show their own strong personality. The girls tried to choose those heroines of fairy tales who had the same character, views. The participants presented themselves, a range of their interests, their faculty in images of modern Vasilisa Prekrasnaya, Little Red Riding Hood, Malvina, Princess, Witch and Cinderella.
Each of the spectators had an opinion concerning the girls and, therefore, forecasts for a victory.
Each of the participants was sure of herself and hoped that it would be namely she who would be the owner of the crown after a while and would be able to present our branch at the competition of PSU “Miss University 2013”.
But only one girl could win. While the jury were consulting, Anastasia Gladkaya and Kirill Popik, the pupils of sports club “Yunost”, who caught the fancy of the audience with the help of the comic dance “Friendship”, Vladimir Lyutov, the student of the third course, faculty CS&AS, who sang some lyrical songs, “Space” and “Rhythm”, the groups of the dancing aerobics subbranch of the combat sports club, appeared on the stage. The creative team of the studio and salon “Charm” prepared bright images of hairdresses and make-ups corresponding to current fashion trends.
Before declaring Miss Branch titleholder, the judges bestowed each participant with the help of special Diplomas:
“Miss Charisma” – Ekaterina Strakhotskaya (II course, faculty “Informatics with the additional faculty “English Language”)
“Miss Charm” – Vladislava Sergeyeva (I course, specialization “AISIE”)
“Miss Grace” – Victoria Timina (II course, faculty “Foreign languages”)
“II Vice Miss” – Christina Filippova (I course, specialization “Foreign languages”)
“I Vice Miss” – Ekaterina Stuknyan (I course, specialization “Design”)
In spite of the fact that six students showed the mass of their talents and charm, the main title – Miss Branch 2013 and a crown of the winner, by a fair assessment of the jury, went to Irina Sviderskaya who presented the IInd course, faculty “Applied Information Science in Economics”. Tatyana Turanskaya, the last year's winner, handed the crown to Irina.
The evening of the 22nd of March was undoubtedly successful. The hall was overflowed with positive emotions and good mood. Thanks to the spectators who supported the project, to the sponsors who didn’t offend the participants and gave prizes, gifts and attention, and to the jury which fairly estimated the competition. And of course gratitude to the organizers of the project – to the trade-union committee of students, the department of youth affairs and branch dean’s office.
