HIV/AIDS preventive measures
On October 15 and 16 the representatives of the World Health Organization held a discussion with the students of I-III courses of the PSU, the branch in Rybnitsa. It was a part of the target program of HIV/AIDS preventive measures.
Volunteers distributed brochures containing information on the disease description and its prevention as well as coupons for free laboratory check-ups. The educational animated cartoon was demonstrated to the audience.
As the principal risk group includes the youth this program covers all the students of the branch, either full-time students or students of the correspondence department. The spread of HIV/AIDS infection in Pridnestrovie is critical at the moment, with Rybnitsa being the most problematic settlement. After several lections it is planned to attract some volunteers from the student community. After completing special training they will be able to establish groups with similar aims of sharing the information concerning HIV/ AIDS preventive measures as the projected growth of this problem causes concerns.
