ST. GEORGE RIBBON
On April 15, 2015 the campaign “St. George Ribbon” associated with the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War started in Pridnestrovie. Its main goal is for the younger generation not to forget who and at what price won the Great Victory in the most terrible war of the twentieth century.
Anniversary year initiators of the campaign were representatives of the youth movement “Star” together with the student active group of the Pridnestrovian State University. During three days the campaign volunteers will visit all the Republic cities.
Initiators of the campaign met the student active group at the Pridnestrovian State University, the branch in Rybnitsa. Guys talked about the campaign and the history of its symbol – the St. George ribbon.
During the campaign all the students were presented with black and orange ribbons as a symbol of victory over fascism and gratitude to the veterans.
Guests invited everybody to take part in a large-scale project “We remember. RF”. It is just necessary to load photos of relatives who participated in the fighting during the Great Patriotic war to memorize their heroism and give more people an opportunity to learn about it.
On April 28 the Rybnitsa branch team will continue a series of events associated with the Great Victory with the exhibition opening “Memory of the past is our future”. That exhibition includes personal and family war photos of the branch lecturers, staff and students. Under the exhibition there will be a memory meeting, student campaign “St. George ribbon”, exhibition of nonfiction and fiction books about the Great Patriotic War, exhibition of exhibits of the Military Hall of Fame, charity fair-sale “Congratulate a Veteran”, earnings of which will go to congratulating veterans invalids of the Great Patriotic War at home.
Today before such a significant for the whole nation holiday, it is very important not to forget about the great feat of the Soviet people who so bravely fought for the Victory!
“We remember, we are proud!”, therefore “Nobody is forgotten and nothing is forgotten!”.
