STUDENT RESEARCH CONFERENCE
On April 22, 2025 there was a student research conference according to the results of student’s research work at the PSU, the branch in Rybnitsa, at the Foreign Languages Chair.
This year the conference was moved with the innovation: there were two workshops “Current Problems of Linguistics” and “Competence and Oriented Foreign Languages Teaching”.
The participants of the first workshop offered the following reports:
1. “Proper Names in English Idioms” (Bunkova Zlata, Kushpita Natalia, Form 11, MEE “Rybnitsa Russian Secondary School No. 6 with Lyceum Classes”).
2. “Image of Holy Fools in the Process of the Russian Nation Initiation” (Mazurik Olga, Form 10, MEE “Rybnitsa Russian Secondary School No. 6 with Gymnasia Classes”).
3. “Image of a Child in the Russian Phraseological World View” (Nitse Nikita, Course V, Specialty “Foreign Language” with an additional specialty “Foreign Language”).
4. “Role of Epithets in the Novel by S. Zweig “Letter from an Unknown Woman” (Balan Marins, Course V, Specialty “Foreign Language” with an additional specialty “Foreign Language”).
5. “Analysis of the Use of Political Neologisms in Modern Journalism” (Grigurko Christine, Course V, Specialty “Foreign Language” with an additional specialty “Foreign Language”).
6. “Semantic Group “Clothes” by the Example of the British Version of Vogue No. 1, 2014 (Kolesnikova Anastasia, Course V, Specialty “Foreign Language” with an additional specialty “Foreign Language”).
Topics of the second workshop were devoted to methodological developments and their implementation into the foreign language, as well as the development of methods for distance teaching languages to pupils:
1. “Haunted Castles in Great Britain” (Ratnikova Olga, Antoshina Valeria, Form 9, MEE “Rybnitsa Russian Gymnasium No. 1”).
2. “Methods and Techniques of Essay Writing in Secondary School” (Paly Ivan, Course V, Specialty “Foreign Language” with an additional specialty “Foreign Language”).
3. “Distance Written Language Teaching (by the Example of DLS)” (Fidelskaya Catherine, Course III, Direction “Pedagogical Education”, Profile “Foreign Language” with an additional profile “Foreign Language”).
4. “Motivation of Studying at the University” (Grishin Artem, Martinova Irina, Course III, Direction “Pedagogical Education”, Profile “Foreign Language” with an additional profile “Foreign Language”).
5. “Psychological Characteristics of Students’ Academic Stress” (Koretskaya Olga, Course III, Direction “Pedagogical Education”, Profile “Foreign Language” with an additional profile “Foreign Language”).
The practical significance of researches was reflected, and the relevance of the chosen topics was proved very well in all reports. All performances were accompanied by presentation visuals that helped to visualize and objectify the presented material. The researches performed by students and pupils concerned problems of development and functioning of the language, and the fact how the language reacts to certain phenomena.
We would like to mention the level of guests’ preparation, that is, pupils’ of secondary schools. They mastered the material at a sufficiently high level, presented deep researches. Their reports caused a lot of questions which were discussed during the workshops.
The jury allocated the places according to the results of the two workshops in the following way:
Ist place – Balan Marina (the research supervisor is Lecturer Zadobrivkaya O.),
IInd place – Grishin Artem, Martinova Irina (the research supervisor is Senior Lecturer Pavlinova I.),IIIrd place – Nitse Nikita (the research supervisor is Associate Professor Egorova V.).
