LET US LIGHT A MEMORY CANDLE

There is no family in our country which was passed by the war. On May 8, at 20:30 there was a campaign “Let us Light a Memory Candle” in Rybnitsa at the Glory Obelisk.

There were a lot of people, among whom there were pupils, students and city residents. Those present wanted to honor those who had died and to show deep respect to the participants of the Great Patriotic War. Pupils and students marched to the eternal light with a burning lamp in their hands, later they were joined by other participants of the campaign. The dusk was in, and glowing lamps merged into one lane of light, twinkling red, blue, yellow and green. Everyone who had lit his lamp remembered those who had remained on the battlefield, and those who had arranged a peaceful life after the war. Thanks spread far away, responding with pride and sadness in hearts of people. Even small children understood the meaning of what was happening: as one girl said, the light of lamps symbolized souls of soldiers killed in the war. And while people celebrate Victory Day, while people treat the events of 1941-1945 with respect and awe, and while small children, though do not understand, but feel the importance of this holiday, the words engraved on the plate, will not lose its value:
“NOBODY HAS GONE! NOTHING HAS GONE!”
