FORMATION OF LINGUISTIC AND METHODOLOGICAL COMPETENCIES IN STUDENTS’ RESEARCH WORK
On May 28, the Department of the Germanic Languages and Methods of Their Teaching hosted a faculty (branch) scientific and practical conference on the topic “Formation of linguistic and methodological competencies in students’ research work”.
The conference purpose was to increase the level of scientific training of students receiving higher professional education, as well as to identify talented students for further training and replenishment of pedagogical and scientific personnel of schools and universities.
The opening speech was delivered by the Head of the Department of the Germanic Languages and Methods of Their Teaching, Associate Professor Viktoriya G. Egorova, who welcomed all the conference participants. Yegorova V.G. added that students’ research work is an important component of the educational process. The organization of research activities is becoming particularly important today, as it acts as a factor of self-development, self-determination, and has a significant impact on personality-oriented development. The research approach to the study is one of the ways for a person to know the world around him, to search for himself, his place in this world, which is one of the main conditions for successful socialization of the individual.
The following reports were presented during the conference:
1. “Words and complex language signs as a means of forming ideas about the digital society” (Gritskul D.Yu .);
2. “Lexico-semantic field “courage in the English and Russian languages” (Ivanov S.S.);
3. “Methods of active learning at the lesson of the English language in primary school” (Kupreychuk S.N.);
4. “Features of the simile functioning in the novel “Wuthering Heights” by E. Bronte” (Tkhoreva A.A.);
5. “Prospects for using educational longread in the course of linguistic and cultural studies” (Osadchy V.V.);
6. “Improving pronunciation skills in phonetics classes in high school” (Sklyar L.S.).
The work at the conference was accompanied by a lively and constructive discussion. The reports were presented at the high theoretical and methodological level. The conference participants showed great interest in the topics discussed and noted the relevance of studying the methodological and linguistic problems raised.
