TEACHING STAFF CONFERENCE

On January 20, the final scientific conference of the teaching staff “Digital transformation of industry and education as a factor in assessing and influencing the development of the region” was held at the Department of Automation of Technological Processes and Production at the Rybnitsa branch of the PSU named after. T.G. Shevchenko. 
 


During the conference, the work of the teaching staff of the department on the topic “Digital transformation of industry and education as a factor in assessing and influencing the development of the region” was considered. The presentations were made in the following scientific directions:
•     Fedorov V.E. The report topic is “Transformation of the industry under the conditions of applying digital technologies”.
•     Zabolotnaya V.V. The report topic is “Transformation of engineering education in the context of using digital technologies”.
•     Tsvinkaylo P.S. The report topic is “Transformation of the agricultural sector of the region in the context of using digital technologies”.
•     Cherbulenko A.V. The report topic is “Application of information technologies in small businesses”.
Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department Fedorov Vladimir E. spoke on the topic “Transformation of industry under the conditions of applying digital technologies”. The impact of digital transformation on activities of industrial enterprises and implementation of digital technologies and new management approaches contribute not only to maintaining the level of competitiveness of industrial enterprises in the market, but also to expanding their capabilities.
The technologies used by enterprises are an effective tool for increasing the efficiency of using its resources. They do not only determine the quality and speed of production processes, but also allow us to solve specific business problems that is of decisive importance under the modern conditions.
Solving the problem of developing effective methods for managing industrial enterprises in the context of digitalization is a priority task, both at the local and regional levels.
Zabolotnaya Victoria V., Senior Lecturer of the Department of Automation of Technological Processes and Production, presented the topic “Transformation of engineering education in the context of using digital technologies” for discussion.
In connection with the transition of higher professional education to a new educational paradigm based on professional standards, the requirements for the training of engineers are formed under the influence of the need of employers for engineering and technical specialists and the need to modernize engineering education. Engineering education needs digital transformation. The formation of a common problem field of professional activity and education by means of electronic educational resources allows developing the competence in the field of computer science of bachelors in the training program “Automation of Technological Processes and Production” in the process of solving interdisciplinary tasks of professional orientation at the stage of training activity. The activity of a graduate of the training program under consideration requires, first of all, the ability to automate information processing. He must do this in a familiar and accessible computer environment, such as MathCad and MatLab. These environments are widely used in engineering calculations for industrial automation.
The topic of Tsvinkailo P.S. “Transformation of the agricultural sector of the region in the context of using digital technologies” is reflected in the example of “Automation of the technological process of cooling grain masses by active ventilation in warehouses with inclined floors at the JSC Tiraspol Bread Factory “Rybnitsa Production”. Properly organized monitoring of stored grains and a skillful correct analysis of the obtained observational data make it possible to prevent undesirable phenomena in a timely manner and conserve the grain mass at minimal cost or sell it without loss. Grain temperature control is the most effective and affordable practical way to track the results of biochemical processes occurring in the grain bulk during its storage. The temperature of the grain bulk allows judging its condition during storage and taking appropriate measures to avoid deterioration in the quality or grain spoilage. It is the use of digital technologies that makes it possible to ensure rapid changes in the field of technique, technology and production.
The lecturer of the Department Cherbulenko A.V. speaking on the topic “Application of information technologies in small businesses” noted that at present, for the successful development of small businesses in the region, along with the need for financial and property support for entrepreneurship, it is becoming increasingly important to provide the necessary information resources. The degree of business susceptibility to information technologies reflects personal characteristics of a founding manager, his attitude to information technologies and the vision of their future use. The level of awareness of a manager is decisive in the field of possibilities of using information technologies; the higher the information saturation of enterprises with information and the larger the size of the business, the more susceptible it is to the implementation of IT.
Summing up the results of the conference, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department Fedorov V.E. noted that the topic of the department research work is relevant, interesting and makes it possible to constantly improve the process of preparing engineering students. The main trends in the development of technical education are improving the training quality of specialists, ensuring standards in the training program, innovative development, integration with intensive research activities, close connection with the needs of society and the national economy through the improvement of educational and information technologies.
