REPUBLICAN SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE
On March 24, 2023, the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference (with international participation) on the topic “Development and Functioning of the Vocabulary and Phraseology of English, German and Russian” was held at the Department of the Germanic Languages and Methods of Their Teaching.
The relevance of the conference topic is due to the need to further study language units and obtain new data on the features of their semantics, system properties, functioning in the language.
The conference was attended by teachers of the Department of the Germanic Languages and Methods of Their Teaching, as well as the philological faculty of PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko, teachers of the Voronezh State University, Belarusian State University, A. Russo Balti State University, school teachers from Tiraspol, Bendery, Rybnitsa, Dubossary, the Rybnitsa and Slobodzeya districts, as well as students of the bachelor’s training program “Teacher Education”, specialization “Foreign Language” with an additional specialization “Foreign Language”.
During the scientific and practical conference, reports were heard in the following areas:
1. Current problems of modern linguistics (Romano-Germanic and East Slavic groups of languages).
2. Discourse theory and text linguistics.
3. Intercultural communication.
4. Current problems of methodology of teaching the Romano-Germanic and East Slavic group of languages.
The work at the conference was accompanied by a lively and constructive discussion. The reports were presented at a high theoretical and methodological level using multimedia technologies. The participants showed great interest in the topics discussed, noted the relevance of studying the issues touched upon and expressed a desire to continue further cooperation.
