Health Year at the PSU
On October 24 V. Kozhukhari, an oncologist of the Rybnitsa Medical Clinics, delivered a lecture at the reading room as a part of the month’s campaign of cancer fight and Health Year at the PSU.
Students, branch staff and branch employees attended the lecture. The speaker covered the causes of the disease, risk factors, treatment methods. He also cited dismal statistics of those who had fallen ill with the disease. He paid special attention to the preventive measures, importance of early diagnosis and significance of medical examinations. Later doctor answered some questions of the audience. Everyone willing to get examined or seeking advice was able to speak to the doctor. V. Kozhukhari handed out booklets and distributed breast cancer risk assessment tests; the library funds were supplemented by the cancer-information textbook.
