The meeting with the audience of the pre-study courses
It became a heart-warming tradition to organize an annual meeting with the audience of the pre-study courses at the PSU, the branch in Rybnitsa, and with the branch staff. The meeting took place with a constructive atmosphere.
The chairmen made the audience acquainted with areas and specialties of the departments. They also answered all the questions of prospective university students and their parents.
Addressing the audience I. Pavlinov, Branch Director, Associate Professor, Candidate of economic science, noted that the branch staff is constantly working on developing abilities of each student, contributing to creating a respectable and patriotic citizen, forming an individuality who is ready to achieve success in the highly-technological and competitive world.
The role of the pre-study courses is very high; they have been working since 1998, from October 15 till May 1.
The main aim of the course is career guidance and training school leavers of intermediate schools, the lyceum, the gymnasium, vocational schools and also the youth with secondary-level education for successful enrollment to the University and other higher education institutions and mastering the curriculum.
The main task of the courses is to improve the pre-University training of the youth in general subjects, widely applying integrative courses which provide forming comprehensive knowledge, abilities and skills sufficient for mastering the university science curriculum. All in all 1680 attendees achieved mastery of the course for 15 years; many of which enrolled at the PSU, the branch in Rybnitsa, or other departments of the PSU or educational institutions of Russia, Ukraine and Moldova.
There are groups for studying Mathematics, Russian, English, German, Computer science and Physics.
The attendees of the pre-study courses enjoy privileges in case they enter our University. Lectures take place in well-equipped lecture rooms according to the approved schedule three day a week; the time is convenient for attendees (15 – 18). There are two lectures of each discipline, which is necessary for this or that specialty.
The staff consists of the University professors as well as school teachers, competent in respective areas, who are open for everything new. They are capable of assisting the youth in achieving the place under the sun and growing their independence and confidence. Test checks are held in each subject based on the materials of the Russia Testing Centre. Tasks are aimed to develop thinking, encourage cognitive urge, increasing thus mastering level efficiency.
The branch staff carries on career guidance work popularizing the departments of the PSU. There is the stand “School Leaver” where the information with the list of specialties and areas of the PSU is given.
Such secondary schools as Gymnasium #1, Theoretical Lyceum, Secondary School #3, #6, # 10, Ukrainian School are the basic schools; many of their school leavers choose the PSU for their further education.
There are the branches of the departments at several schools of the city; students undergo their practical teaching training and there is strong creative partnership between employees of higher and compulsory education.
Several factors play positive role in performing the course annual admission plan: the image of the quality education provider in the region, effective promotional campaign, required subject structure, reasonable tuition as well as open and unbiased policy of the PSU, the branch in Rybnitsa.
